Vision
Statement
We are a vibrant Catholic community where all are welcomed, challenged, and
supported on their life journeys.
Mission Statement
The mission of St. Catherine of Siena parish is to inspire, engage, and nurture
our community through worship, witness, and service.
Worship
We worship with one another through prayer, small faith communities, the
celebration of the Eucharist, and the other sacraments. In communion with the
universal Catholic Church, we strive to pass on our spiritual traditions from
one generation to the next. We seek fellowship with all members of the parish
community, our sister parish, and all of God’s children, especially those in
other parishes and faith communities in our region.
Witness
Nourished by the Eucharist and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we deepen our
relationship with God by learning, teaching, and giving witness to the love and
word of God. We critically examine our faith's response to living in a
contemporary world.
Service
By expressions of our faith through time, talent and treasure we reach out to
those in spiritual, emotional and physical need. We join in unity as a parish
community and with our brothers and sisters throughout the world working to meet
these needs.
Parish Organization
St Catherine's is a
parish of the Diocese of Rochester. Our bishop is Matthew H. Clark. We operate
under a strategic plan approved by the Pastoral Council in 2007 after a long
data gathering and recommendation process.
The pastor presides over two councils: Pastoral Council & Finance
Council.
The Pastoral Council consists of members of the parish who assist the
pastor
in making decisions about the overall direction of parish life, and the
progress
of the pastoral plan. Members serve a three-year term. The
Finance
Council oversees the financial matters of the parish, and the overall
well-being and
solvency of our community. The council consists of members with varied
backgrounds
in business and professional fields.
