Music Ministries

We have a vibrant and growing music ministry at St. Catherine's, with opportunities for everyone to participate regardless of age or experience. In addition to our regular choirs, we have growing cantor and instrumental programs, and periodic special choirs. We also have a Music in Liturgy Committee which helps set the direction and goals for music in weekly liturgies.

If you are interested in becoming involved in a music ministry, please call Sherry Scanza, Music Director at 257-2493.

Marian Choir
A four-part choral group which sings at the Sunday 11:30 A.M. Mass. They sing a wide range of classical and contemporary works.  They rehearse on the 1st, 3rd and 5th (when applicable) Thursdays of the month from 7:30 - 9 P.M. and 45 minutes before Mass.
Children's Choir
This choir includes children from age 8 and up. They sing at the Sunday 9 A.M. Mass at least twice per month. Members often act as cantors during the liturgy.  They rehearse every Wednesday from 4 - 5 P.M.

   Other Music Ministry Opportunities

Cantors Cantors lead our assembly in song during liturgies. All ages are welcome, with training and support from the music directors and fellow cantors, if needed. Some cantors are also members of a particular choir, but it is not required.
Music In Liturgy
A group of staff and parishioners who help provide direction for the music program. They also plan special music events and activities, and are involved in evaluating their success.
Instrumental
If you have an instrumental talent, and wish to share it with others, the opportunities are endless. From periodic support of our choirs to solo music, all ages and abilities are welcome, including all types of instruments from guitars, violins, and flutes to harmonicas, percussion, and kazoos (ok, maybe not the last one!).
